In trying to express the vitality and presence of the invisible, I employ objective verification methods such as mathematical and scientific factors, which are considered to be more convincing in a general sense.

A drawing emerges from interpreting, in a subjective way, the spiritual domain or the emotions, memories and thoughts an individual has experienced, which are not objectively attestable. I then attempt to demonstrate these with the use of objective methods. The created composition appears to be rational and dry, and yet it touches every small and trivial emotion and aspect of the individual’s story.

Through my work, I try to cherish very personal emotions that can be easily disregarded as being insignificant and unproductive. By representing the emotions in a careful arrangement and transforming them into the matter of artistic study, thus drawing the viewer’s attention to them, I try to share my precious stories and the pleasure that I have experienced.

나는 보이지 않는 것의 생명력과 존재감을 표현하기 위해 일반적으로 설득력을 갖는 객관적인 (과학, 수학 등) 증명 방식을 차용한다.

객관적 증명이 불가능한 정신의 영역 즉 개인의 고유한 경험에서 비롯된 감정이나 생각을 주관적으로 해석하고 객관적 증명 방식을 통해 증명한 흔적들은 하나의 드로잉(drawing)이 된다. 이들은 겉으로 보기에는 매우 이성적이고 건조해 보이지만 그 내면은 매우 감성적이며 사소해 보이기까지 한 개인의 이야기가 담겨 있다.

나는 사소하고 비 생산적으로 치부해 버릴 수도 있는 인간의 사적인 감성을 작품을 통하여 중요하고 특별한 것으로 이끌어 낸다. 그리고 그것을 아주 정돈되게, 때로는 연구해야 하는 대상으로 전환시킴으로 그것에 집중케 하여 관객과 함께 내가 느낀 보물과도 같은 소중한 이야기들을 공유하고자 한다.
